Dickinson, ND (March 15th, 2021): A Dickinson teen has died from a gunshot wound sustained at a residence early Saturday morning, and another teen has been arrested on suspicion of Negligent Homicide.
At around 1:00 A.M., Dickinson police officers responded to St. Alexius Hospital in Dickinson for a report of a male juvenile suffering a gunshot wound to his torso. The male had been dropped off at the hospital by friends. Life-saving measures were attempted at the emergency room, but the 15-year-old was declared deceased a short time later.
Investigators were called out and began interviewing witnesses in the early morning hours. The incident was believed to have occurred at a residence in east Dickinson. A search warrant was obtained for the residence, and evidence of the shooting was gathered.
A 16-year-old was taken into custody and transported to the Youth Correctional Center in Mandan, ND. The victim and the suspect were known to one another.

Unrelated to this incident, officers responded to another shooting involving a juvenile this weekend. Around 10:00 P.M. Friday, officers responded to St. Alexius Hospital in Dickinson for a report of two people suffering minor gunshot wounds. An 8-year-old male juvenile and his 28-year-old father were injured when a handgun the juvenile was handling discharged, striking the juvenile in the finger and the father in the stomach. Neither wound was life-threatening and both individuals were treated and released.
