It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website and I hope your visit is informative and enlightening. I am extremely fortunate and honored to serve the department and community your search has led you to. Our team consists of some of the finest, most capable and professional men and women serving in the field. The Dickinson Police Department is a modern, professional police department which embraces technology and innovation while maintaining our conservative, traditional bones.

We as a department have enjoyed unwavering support from our community and together we have established an intimate partnership making Dickinson an extremely safe and secure place to call home.  We believe in community-strength through unity and acknowledge we are only as strong as our foundation built on community trust, values, and legitimacy.

We are here to serve and maintain the safe standard of living residents have been accustomed to throughout the years.  Being part of the Bakken energy sector has presented many challenges which have strengthened our bonds, fostered collaboration, and increased community engagement. Our strength is our people, our goal is community safety and security.  Our mission is to be prepared and to serve our community in a professional, empathetic, respectful and inclusive manner while investing in tomorrow through today’s youth.

Reach out or come visit us in your travels and learn for yourself what Dickinson PD and our great community has to offer.  Consider becoming part of our team, we are always welcoming to anyone wanting to do and be part of something more, something special!

Sincerely,

Chief Joe Cianni

Awesome

Awesome .Awesome .

We were proud to swear-in another group of new officers at tonight’s city commission meeting!

Joining us is Officer Timothy Meyer, Officer Alexander Fransen, and Officer Christopher Olson.

Officer Meyer is originally from South Dakota but moved to the Bismarck area when was young. After working in his family’s HVAC business, he came onboard with us in October of 2022. He is currently attending the North Dakota Basic Police Academy.

Officer Fransen is a Montana native. Dickinson State University ultimately lured him to the area where he completed a Bachelors degree and later a Masters degree from Western Governors University. He has been a familiar face coaching youth sports in our area for many years, and ultimately joined us in January of this year. He is also currently attending the ND Basic Academy this spring.

Officer Olson is a California native and recently moved to the Bozeman, MT to serve as a corrections officer and a re-entry program team leader. He joined us in February of this year. His father was a police officer, which was a big driving force in him wanting to do the same.

We are very proud of the professionalism and the eagerness to serve the community these new recruits have exhibited thus far! They are a great compliment to our team.

Congrats fellas!

Hope she comes home safe

Praying she gets home safely

Has anyone looked into why these teens keep running away? Seems odd to me that so many have ran away through the years.

Hope she gets home safe or at least communicates and is in a safe place

Praying for her safe return

🙏🏻🙏🏻

I pray sweet child you get to safety. Message me if you need to talk. Life can be rough for young children. Obviously someone cares about you and wants you back safely.

It’s been days . I keep checking for updates praying she gets home safe soon. I’m sure her family is worried sick 🥹

Hope she comes home

🙏🙏for her safety.
