It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website and I hope your visit is informative and enlightening. I am extremely fortunate and honored to serve the department and community your search has led you to. Our team consists of some of the finest, most capable and professional men and women serving in the field. The Dickinson Police Department is a modern, professional police department which embraces technology and innovation while maintaining our conservative, traditional bones.

We as a department have enjoyed unwavering support from our community and together we have established an intimate partnership making Dickinson an extremely safe and secure place to call home.  We believe in community-strength through unity and acknowledge we are only as strong as our foundation built on community trust, values, and legitimacy.

We are here to serve and maintain the safe standard of living residents have been accustomed to throughout the years.  Being part of the Bakken energy sector has presented many challenges which have strengthened our bonds, fostered collaboration, and increased community engagement. Our strength is our people, our goal is community safety and security.  Our mission is to be prepared and to serve our community in a professional, empathetic, respectful and inclusive manner while investing in tomorrow through today’s youth.

Reach out or come visit us in your travels and learn for yourself what Dickinson PD and our great community has to offer.  Consider becoming part of our team, we are always welcoming to anyone wanting to do and be part of something more, something special!

Sincerely,

Chief Joe Cianni

Thank you ❤🙏🍀👍🍩

A little of the old, a little of the new! Here's the new Dickinson PD patch that will be proudly displayed on the shoulders of our dedicated men and women as they represent a resilient, rugged, and respectful community!

Previous department patches have featured a bucking bronco, the first ones dating back to the 1960s. In the early 1990s, Chief Paul Bazzano revised the patch to the previously-most current version, featuring a nod to Theodore Roosevelt and "Rough Rider Country" for his time served in the 1st US Cavalry "Rough Rider Regiment" during the Spanish-American War. With the construction of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library underway, we felt it important to keep the Rough Rider theme contained within our new patch.
