New Public Safety Center

Planning and design continue on the new Dickinson Public Safety Center in north Dickinson.

The City of Dickinson is moving forward with its plans to construct a new Public Safety Center, which will be the new home of the Dickinson Police Department and the Dickinson Fire Department. Both entities have outgrown their current space and are in need of expansion.

Schutz Foss Architects, who have been selected by the city for the initial design, have recently released the initial exterior concept art of the building, which will be located on the northwest corner of State AVE and 21 ST W. JE Dunn has been retained by the city to be the Construction Manager At-Risk and will begin construction on the PSC in the spring of 2014.

The entire complex is estimated to be about 42,000 square feet, with an estimated price tag of $12 million dollars. Ground work is dependent on the weather, with substantial construction beginning in the spring of 2014. Builders hope to have the building up and running by late 2014 or early 2015.
