On behalf of the men and women of the Dickinson Police Department, I am pleased to welcome you to our website.  Our continuing goal is to make the city of Dickinson a safe place in which to live, work and play.  We are committed to maintaining and improving the quality of life of the city during this time of rapid growth, by actively partnering with community members and being innovative in our policing strategies.

We are proud to serve the residents of Dickinson in many ways.  Our Department is responsible for helping to prevent crime, patrolling neighborhoods, responding to calls for service, investigating crimes, arresting offenders and working closely with the community to identify and solve neighborhood problems.  We also provide educational and outreach programs to assist the residents and youth of our community.  Our ongoing commitment is to continue to provide the highest quality, professional, and courteous service to our community.

The discharging of fireworks is prohibited within the city limits of Dickinson.

On 06/21/2015, at approximately 11:14 PM, the Dickinson Police Department responded to a report of a drive-by shooting in the 800 block of 3rd Ave West. The eyewitness reported a van driving southbound. A white male passenger began shooting out the window and bullets struck a business, residence, and two parked cars.

The van is described as the following: white in color, early to mid-1990’s ‘contractor style’ (unknown make or model), no windows behind the front passenger compartment on the sides or rear, possibly no roof-rack, possible black colored door handles and bumpers, clean body condition with no obvious defects, and no license plate information.

The shooter is described as the following: white male, thin body build, late 20’s, short/dark colored hair, no obvious facial hair or tattoos, and was seen wearing a white colored t-shirt.
