SEX OFFENDER NOTIFICATION
The North Dakota Attorney General, in pursuant to Section
12.1-32-15 of the North Dakota Century Code (NDCC), generates a list
of "High Risk" or "Level III" Sex Offenders for
persons convicted of a sex offense. This law requires a person
who is a resident of North Dakota and who has a qualifying conviction
to maintain registration with the police department or sheriff's office
in the jurisdiction where the person resides. Their criminal history
places them in a classification level which reflects the potential
to re-offend.
The Dickinson Police Department is releasing the following
information pertaining to Level III Sex Offenders, since the department
determined that the individual(s) is/are a public risk and disclosure
is necessary for public protection. Due to recent regional events pertaining to sex offenders, the department is also releasing information pertaining to Level II (Medium) Sex Offenders. For information about Level I (Low) Sex Offenders and Offenders Against Children (Child Abuse), stop by the Law Enforcement Center during normal business hours and request to see the complete offender list. You may also view a complete list by visiting the North Dakota Sex Offender Website at http://www.sexoffender.nd.gov.
The purpose of this list is to promote public protection
from the potential risks posed by individuals who have committed offenses
in the past. Sex offenders have always lived in our communities, and
the accompanying risks have always been present. This method of public
notification is an acceptable way of reducing that risk and enhancing
public protection. Any actions taken by persons against these subjects,
including vandalism of property, intimidation, harassment or verbal
or written threats of harm against these subjects or their families,
landlords, or employers, are not acceptable, and will likely result
in arrest and prosecution of those persons.
