What is Community Watch? Community Watch groups, the foundation of community crime prevention, were created to encourage citizen involvement in preventing residential crime. Involved neighbors report suspicious activities to the Dickinson Police Department. The ultimate goal of the department is to have every neighborhood in Dickinson under a Community Watch program. As of recent, the majority of the federal Neighborhood Watch grant money has been diverted towards Homeland Security. However, we feel it is still possible to establish Neighborhood Watch groups. If you can help us by being a "Block Captain", we will assist you in developing a program in your neighborhood. Please contact LT Dave Wallace for more information. Questions or Comments? Dickinson is a large city in respect to the number of
officers on patrol, and without help from alert citizens, crime has
the advantage. But with your help, we can prevent crime together and
make Dickinson a safe and crime-free community!
